This is my reflection on the Grassroots project I'm working on the computer at Chris Hadfield Public School with my classmates and teachers. This particular grassroots project for us grade 7's are on the topic of Canadian Heroes or in other words, Heroes of New France. We are studying about New France in History this year and about the heroes in New France. My hero of New France that I'm doing a project on is Jean Talon. He was also known as the Great Intendant at the time period. In my reflection, I will write about what I learned and what I think about this project.
We just started this project during the beginning of March 2004. I was exceedingly excited to be part of this project! Now, I know that there are lots more to this project. I think I liked the grassroots part more than the history part of the project because I enjoy working on the computers. Such as: creating links, pasting information, making the page all colourful, neat, and organized. I also liked learning more about using the computers and laptops of creating web pages and so on. I think this project is an incredibly important skill for me to use in the future. I liked the part of the project where we got to test links out and going into each other's web pages. This is also an entertaining and pleasurable project to work on, it's the kind of project you absolutely want to work on. Thus, with more effort too! This assignment was an awesome idea to learn more about history of New France, learning more skills, and inquiring more knowledge in technology of computers today.
Jean Talon was the Great Intendant of New France because he was the first intendant of New France and he was the best out of all of the others who were intendants after Jean Talon left New France. Jean Talon was a hero because he was the one who made the New France population grow and turning New France into a colony. Jean Talon had many ideas and schemes to succeed this! If there wasn't Jean Talon, Canada won't be like today as we have it now!
Most of this assignment went especially well and I'm relieved that it did. Learning how to make links and web pages were really excellent skills that I would need in the future. I'm sure in the future; I will have chances like this one, to learn more useful skills like all the ones I'm learning today! Overall, I think this project was one of the best projects I did this year in grade 7 in Chris Hadfield Public School!
